Clipper is a global operator of modern Handysize and Supramax/Ultramax dry bulk vessels. We provide reliable and competitive freight services to raw material suppliers, commodity traders, industrial producers and other end-users of dry bulk and break-bulk commodities.
We have undergone a transformation from a traditional owner into a more focused, specialized operator and commercial manager. This implies a sharpened focus on routes, trades, and geographies, where we can leverage current partnerships and existing positions of strengths to grow our business.
We are pursuing opportunities to grow our fleet of managed, chartered and owned vessels, as we benefit from our cost-effective business platform. Our fleet and office network enable a truly global service on any route, anytime, anywhere.
We monitor markets closely and make use of analytics and risk management systems to support decision-making and positioning of vessels. We optimize route planning by triangulating voyages as we combine fronthaul and backhaul trades to enhance vessel utilization and earnings.
Chartered and commercially managed vessels make up the majority of our fleet in addition to owned vessels. This approach balances Clipper’s long-term exposure to cyclical markets and allows us to operate a flexible and cost-effective fleet.
Several vessels are “geared” with versatile self-loading and discharging equipment allowing them to access the many ports restricted by shallow water, locks, narrow channels, river bends or the absence of cranes.
