Clipper Group is a family-held international shipping group dedicated to global dry bulk shipping via Clipper Bulk.
Clipper Group is represented in Brazil, Denmark, Hong Kong, Norway, and the USA. Moreover, the Group is a co-investor in companies in Latin America.
The Group traces its roots back to 1972 when Torben G. Jensen co-founded Armada Shipping. In 1992, Torben G. Jensen left to form his own company, Clipper, building on select assets from Armada. From the very start, Clipper focused on Handysize and Supramax bulk carriers, but the Group subsequently expanded into other shipping segments through acquisitions and new ventures. In 2018, the Group decided to strategically re-focus on its core activities, and this process was completed in 2022 with the divestment of the ro-ro activities on the Irish Sea.
The Jensen family remains fully committed to long-term ownership and sustained efforts to develop and strengthen the Group’s activities.
The Group’s parent company, Clipper Group Ltd., Is incorporated in Nassau on the Bahamas, where the family owners maintain a small office cooperating closely with the Bahamian flag state. In 2009, the Group moved its headquarters and primary business address to Copenhagen, Denmark. Clipper Group Ltd. is subject to full Danish taxation, and the Danish tax authorities have full insight into Group financials.
